Things to Do In Port De Pollensa

Located on the north part of the island of Mallorca off the coast of Spain this little town is set in a beautiful cove. On the other side of the island from the big city and capital Palma, life here is a bit slower and closer to nature. This fishing village turned resort beach is an excellent alternative for travellers seeking a peaceful beach to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Palma and Ibiza. The piercing blue water on the warm beach of Formentor and the comforting sunrise over the bay make this the spot to visit time after time again.

Time to drop the bags

First things first, get established at home base, then go out and take in everything the island has to offer. You will definitely need at minimum two weeks to get the feel of all that is Mallorca and fit in the smooth rhythms of relaxed life here. So check out the private villas in Pollensa where you can live like kings and queens in your home away from home. Captivating views from your bedroom, immaculate private pools, and everything else you need to feel comfortable.

Secret beaches and a short hike

Mallorca has the Serra de Tramuntana, a mountain range that surrounds Puerto Pollensa. That means there are endless opportunities and trails to hike in this area. The best time to go is spring or autumn when there are less tourists and the weather is cooler. Imagine hiking through the glorious mountains and ending up on a secluded beach. Take a cool swim and have a cool beer before heading back.

Take in the views at Mirador d’es Colomer

The best view in Puerto Pollensa is here. Even if you are afraid of heights you should try it, one time in your life. At three hundred meters above sea level with breathtaking views you can see what feels like forever. At the top of the mountain range on a clear day, you can see Puerto Pollensa, the bay of Alcudia, and the Mediterranean sea looking out at Menorca island.

History in Alcudia Old Town

Alcudia is a charming old town with Roman ruins and layers and layers of history just a few kilometers away from Puerto Pollensa. There is also a port and beach but it is the ancient city that is the star. Visit in the afternoon or evening to take in the life of the town, do a little shopping and a lot of eating. A bit of gelato while you saunter the alleyways and streets and stumble upon a cute restaurant for dinner at an outdoor table.
